This season [macron]s muse is taking a walk on the dark side with a [degrees]raw beauty and a harder edge than we [macron]ve seen before, [+ or -] says makeup artist Karim Rahman. Echoing the ethos of rock and rebellion that dominated the runways *stovepipe pants, vertiginous platforms, and tough leather accessories *makeup artists are swapping fresh-scrubbed faces and muted mouths for much more intense shades: gunmetal, copper, and olive green eyes, and vivid fuchsia and brown lips. To keep the look from spinning out of control, emphasize one feature and [degrees]make an unexpected pairing by toning down the rest of your face, [+ or -] says makeup artist Tom Pecheux. Sooty eyes, for example, can be softened with a rosy flush on the cheeks. Likewise, a strong, sumptuous mouth is more palatable in a semimatte texture rather than high-shine glossiness. The aim, Pecheux says, is to appear [degrees]innocent, grungy, and sophisticated all at the same time. [+ or -]
