FEW THINGS are more heartbreaking than infertility--a condition that afflicts about 15 per cent of couples in most Western nations. I say this from first-hand experience as a person adopted as an infant by an infertile couple who grieved over their inability to have their own children. Whether through male or female infertility or difficulties with pregnancy, couples unable to have children are entitled to compassion and comfort.
