Called to endorse a "Road Map" for Mideast peace that was jointly created by the U.S., Russia, the European Union, and the UN (or the "quartet"), the summit ended with dramatic speeches by President Bush, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas heralding the imminent prospect of lasting peace.
