Bhutan's Druk Air has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to buy two planes that would double the fleet of the only carrier serving the Himalayan kingdom, state media reported.

Druk Air is negotiating the purchase agreement with the European air consortium and hopes to have the A-319 planes delivered in the second half of 2004, the Kuensel newspaper said on its website.
