You can always count on the Yankees to do some kind of big deal, but for the first time in a looooong time, they may be reluctant trade partners come July 31 (relatively speaking, of course). The more exposure Juan Rivera gets, the more he gets exposed, and that bumps Brandon Claussen up to the top of any dance partner's wish list. With the Rocket retiring, Boomer hitting 40, Andy Pettitte heading for the free-agent market and Jose Contreras and Jeff Weaver continuing to be complete mysteries, Moose is the team's only sure starter in '03. That's where Kid Claussen could come in, and the lefty looks ready to pitch in the bigs now.

Where go the Expos?

Because it seems highly improbable that the vagabond Expos will have a new permanent home for next season, it appears that they have only three options for how to proceed: 1. Continue to split their home dates between Montreal and Puerto Rico; 2. Play all of their home games north of the border;

3. Join the Big East.
