South Korea and China vow to bring N Korea to multilateral table.

China and South Korea vowed to work toward bringing North Korea into multilateral talks at the earliest opportunity as they strive to resolve the festering nuclear issue.

"(Chinese) President Hu Jintao and I agreed to make efforts for the early resumption of direct talks among concerned parties in the North Korean nuclear issue," South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun said at a joint press conference after two hours of talks.

Hu said it was agreed that peace must be maintained on the Korean peninsula, but said North Korea's security concerns must also be factored in.
