The comprehensive reliability histories we compile each year on more than 200 cars, minivans, sport-utility vehicles, and trucks not only give us a detailed picture of how those vehicles have fared, but also allow us to look ahead to predict the reliability of the 2003 model-year entries.
The graphs on these pages enable you to compare the current crop of vehicles. Most models that were new or redesigned for 2003 don't appear here because we don't know how they will rank. You'll also find individual reliability predictions in the vehicle profiles that begin on page 38. Reliability is a major factor when we designate a model as recommended. A model not only must do well in our tests, but also have average or better reliability in our reader surveys.
