The Dream Rose, one of several fairly new brand-name plants, claims to be "the rose that everyone can grow." But after two growing seasons in our test gardens, the Dream Rose grew to be.. .nothing special. If you've had trouble growing roses in the past, we don't believe you'll have more luck with the Dream Rose.
We compared the Dream Rose with hybrid-tea roses such as the disease-resistant Peace and the disease-prone Mister Lincoln in the test gardens at our headquarters in Yonkers, N.Y., and at the homes of three staff members (We bought two-gallon potted hybrid roses at local nurseries, paying around $20 each.)
