According to menareport.com, Japan has shelved a $2 billion oil deal with the country as the US pressures Iran over its pursuit of nuclear weapons. The $2 billion oil deal was for the Azadegan oil field, considered Iran's largest, with estimated reserves of over 26 billion barrels of oil. Japan gained bidding rights for the oil field in late 2000.
