(Or why J-Lo is a better role model than Jennifer Aniston)
Jennifer Aniston may have been voted the most powerful celebrity on theplanet last week but, according to some experts, she's not the top role model when it comes to a healthy body image.
That award should go to Jennifer Lopez, says the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute.
'She has attracted a lot of attention because of the size of her bottom, she is not skinny,is very good-looking and is a positive role model for all women," says Irish Nutrition andDietetic Institute (INDI) spokeswoman Margot Brennan.
"In my opinion, Jennifer Aniston looked so much better in the earlier series ofFriends -when she was about a size 12 - than she does now. Similarly with Victoria Beckham, who now looks painfully thin. It would be interesting to compare these 'before' and 'after' pictures and ask people which images are the more attractive."
INDI is trying to change the continuing perception that stick-insect thin promoted by mostaspects of the fashion industry is considered both normal or healthy in terms of looks or size. There are few role models to help people feel happy with their less than perfectlooking bodies, and the tyranny of thin means that if you are not ironing board flat in various places, you can feel fat.
