DAY IN THE LIFE Derek Quinn, movie extra casting agent

'I start work at 8.30am, so I get up at five to eight. I'm not a breakfast man; Ihave croissants and coffee when I get to the office. At least I'm driving against the traffic from Rathmines to Terenure.

Setting up the company didn't involve a big financial investment but the time outlay ishuge. Things have gone far better than we expected. In the past six weeks the website has had 7,000 hits and I'm working a minimum of 12 hours a day, often more. The lasttwo weeks have been manic.

Last week my schedule was thrown out because I worked as a volunteer announcer for the Special Olympics. My youngest brother, Simon, has Down's Syndrome and that's whyI got involved.

Simon wasn't competing - if they introduced a competition to see who can eat the mostfood the quickest he might think about it.

Every morning at seven I had to be at the Riverview Club to announce events. I left thereat 10am to go to the office, went back to Riverview at 4pm, stayed till 7pm, then wentback to the office to do another few hours' work. It was great fun.
