RESIDENTIAL mortgage lending grew almost [euro]1bn during the month of May, but overallthe growth in private sector credit was curtailed, thanks to a drop in the other major loan categories, including short and long-term loans, according to figures released by the Central Bank yesterday.
This was the third month in a row in which mortgage lending has grown at such a level, giving a monthly rise of 23.6pc, unchanged from April and March.
