PRESIDENT Parvanov summons the Consultative Council on National Security (CCNS) on the problem of crime escalation for a third time in a row. The news emerged after Parvanov's meeting with general Boyko Borissov, chief secretary of the interior, per request of the latter. The CCNS will discuss also the legislative amendments to the Penal code and the Act on the interior ministry, offered by ministry itself.

THE CHIEF Labour Inspectorate announced that Bulgarian construction companies will be forced to allocate financing on module scaffoldings, and upgrading the construction machinery and equipment to bring them into compliance with an EU directive on scaffolds to be enforced next year. Coordinators will have to be appointed to constriction sites effective of May, 2004.
