JAPAN RECYCLING FIRM TO BUY USED COMPUTERS FROM INDIVIDUALS.
TOKYO, July 1 Asia Pulse - Digital Reuse Inc., a recycler of personal computers that is affiliated with Mitsubishi Corp. (TSE:8058), will team up with Yamato Transport Co. (TSE:9064) to begin buying used PCs from individuals.
The companies expect demand for such services to grow as a new recycling law will go into effect in October, obliging individuals to pay a fee to manufacturers when disposing of home-use computers. Yamato Transport will introduce the service to its customers, adding it to its menu of moving services.
