SYDNEY, July 1 Asia Pulse - Australian airline Regional Express (Rex) said its inaugural chief executive Michael Jones had stood down from the position.

Rex spokesman Peter Leate said Monday evening executive general manager network strategy Guy Farrow would act as chief executive until a replacement was found.

Mr Jones had led the company since it was formed in August 2002 from the acquisition of former Ansett subsidiaries Hazelton and Kendell Airlines.

"The CEO has left the airline but beyond that everything is operating as normal," Mr Leate said.

"A permanent appointment in the position will be made in due course."

Mr Leate said it was up to the chief executive to clarify the reasons behind his departure but Mr Jones, who was currently holidaying in Europe, could not be ...
