TAIPEI, July 1 - Premier Yu Shyi-kun said Monday that he expects that the issuance of the Taiwan 50 ETF (exchange traded fund) and index futures will add vitality to Taiwan's monetary market and boost Taiwan's visibility in the international financial market.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the new issuance at the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Yu said that the Cabinet has made the fortification of Taiwan's financial market a major task of the Monetary Reform Task Force which was set up a year ago.
The issuance of the Taiwan 50 ETF and the index futures signified the achievements of the task force, according to the premier.
