STILL HOPE FOR 3% ECONOMIC GROWTH: TAIWAN VICE PREMIER.
TAIPEI, July 1 Asia Pulse - Vice Premier Lin Hsin-i said Monday that if economic growth in the third and fourth quarters can be maintained at more than 4 per cent, then there is still hope for 3 per cent economic growth for the whole of this year.
Lin, who concurrently serves as chairman of the Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) , made the remarks after presiding over a CEPD meeting.
He noted that while the economic growth in the first quarter was 3.21 per cent, the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreaks that began in mid-March caused the economic growth in the second quarter to slow down, ...
