A MEASURE to speed up a number of mass housing projects was recently signed between the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association during the National Developers Convention, an annual event the two have co-sponsored.
The resolution will be used by the HUDCC as well as other government agencies as reference to a draft bill they will present before Congress so that a law can be passed to address the acute housing shortage in the country.
To help the HUDCC in preparing the bill are the departments of Agrarian Reform, Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources, Interior and Local Government and the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board in compliance to Section 10 of Executive Order 45.
More affordable
HUDCC chair Michael Defensor stressed the move is part of the Macapagal administration's mission to make housing more affordable to the poor while at the same time be able to maintain its viability for private developers.
