THE YUGOSLAVIAN junior national team and two formidable Asian squads will represent the foreign challenge in the Philippine Basketball Association Asian Invitationals scheduled to start at the end of the month.
Commissioner Noli Eala said the Jilin Yi Qi Tigers of the Chinese league and South Korea's Yonsei University have confirmed their participation along with the Yugoslavs in the Invitationals which will also feature six PBA ballclubs and the RP men's basketball team.
The offer to field a 6-5 and below United States Basketball League selection to be coached by former NBA star Darryl Dawkins in what is actually the PBA's second conference championship came too late.
"It would have been great to have them in the Invitationals but the slots for foreign participation have already been filled," said Eala.
