WHAT traits and qualities should we look for in a president? Perhaps it is time the voters started thinking on this matter this early before the rush to the 2004 presidential elections begins.
In the past five decades since the country regained its independence, few have been the times when the people chose their president well. There were the times, of course, when they had no choice, as when the death or the "constructive resignation" of the incumbent automatically put the vice president in Malacanang, or when a People Power revolt elevated a former senator's wife to the presidency.
