The Golden Quadrilateral Project (GQP) is the first phase of the National Highway Development Programme (NHDP), which links Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai through 5,846 kilometres of road network. Contracts have been awarded for major portions of the project, which is likely to be completed by Dec 2003.
