IN ITS 17 years of existence, the image of dzMM, the AM radio of ABS-CBN, has been greatly boosted by broadcasters Angelo Palmones, Vic de Leon Lima, Neil Ocampo, Korina Sanchez and Jake Maderazo. Some have left to pursue other fields of interests, such as Ted Failon who is now a congressman in Leyte, and Gel Santos-Relos, who is now based in Minneapolis with her family.
Today, even field reporters get a chance to become radio anchors. Two of them in the dzMM roster are Gerry Baja (Radyo Patrol 25) and Anthony Taberna (Radyo Patrol 28), who team up on the daily MM wake-upper "Gising Pilipinas," which starts at 4 a.m., Mondays to Fridays. They also anchor the hard-hitting daily news program, "Dos Por Dos," 7:30 to 8 a.m.
