THE BUREAU of Internal Revenue has issued a memorandum prohibiting all BIR officials and employees from engaging in any transaction that deals with the sale or purchase of tax credit certificates.

The move came after a joint task force formed by the Department of Finance and the National Bureau of Investigation apprehended three individuals, including a BIR employee, for allegedly selling spurious TCCs.

In the recently issued Memorandum Circular No. 36-2003, Revenue Commissioner Guillermo Parayno said he has directed all BIR personnel to refrain from acting as brokers in the selling …
