Seoul, 29 June: Chongwadae [Blue House - presidential offices] confirmed Sunday [29 June] that President Roh Moo-hyun will make a weekly radio address, probably from mid-July, on the state-invested KBS Radio.

Senior presidential secretary for public information Lee Hae-sung said at Sunday's briefing that discussions are under way to decide when the broadcasts are to start, the format and which day of the week the president's address would be made.

KBS had first proposed the presidential address as part of a management decision to turn one of its radio channels into a news station from 14 July.
