Will Frantz, the head pro at Bobcat Trail in North Port, made the cut for the final two rounds of the U.S. Senior Open in Inverness Country Club in Toledo, Ohio.

Frantz shot an even-par 71 on Friday after shooting a 76 in the first round. Currently, he is tied for 19th place.

"I'm pretty excited about it," said Frantz. "This could give me the springboard to make it on the Champions Tour."

Frantz was one of 36 golfers who didn't complete their first round on Thursday because of inclement weather. After 13 holes on Thursday, he was 5 over and was forced to play 23 holes Friday. He finished the first round early Friday morning with two birdies, two bogeys and a par.

Hitting only one driver all day, Frantz really got it rolling on the front nine of the second round, shooting a 3-under 32. At one ...
