Puncak Niaga-led group tipped for water supply deal.

THE Federal Government is expected to award the privatization of water supply to Selangor and Kuala Lumpur to a consortium led by a unit of Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd, sources said.

They said Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn Bhd is expected to hold between 60 per cent and 70 per cent of the consortium and the Selangor State Government will allocate the remaining stake to other shareholders.

However, it is not known whether the other consortium members will include the other two water producers in the area - Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash) and Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd.
