RESTON, Va. -- RESTON, Va., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Entrieva announced today that the US Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) has chosen Entrieva's Semio suite for taxonomy development and deployment. The Entrieva Semio suite consists of SemioTagger and the Enterprise Knowledge Engineering Workbench (EKEW). Each of these software components taken together will provide the Army the ability to quickly design and develop highly customized taxonomies for over 100 Communities of Practice and enable rapid deployment of Army's knowledge base across its 1.2 million users. Entrieva's proven scalable SemioTagger software with Army specific taxonomies will deliver powerful capabilities for browsing, searching, navigating and discovering knowledge, including hidden relationships, patterns and trends, as well as "alert" notification when critical information is detected. With Entrieva's Semio suite, the Army will now have a single integrated platform that can seamlessly categorize and organize structured (e.g., databases) and unstructured (e.g., e-mail, text files, .pdf, .doc, .ppt files, Lotus notes files, etc) content from a large variety of data sources.
Col Timothy Fong, Chief Technology Officer of US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command chose Entrieva's Semio suite to facilitate the development of enterprise taxonomies and has effectively integrated it into the Army's portal, Army Knowledge Online.
