British Prime Minister Tony Blair tidied up a reshuffle of his Labour government, bringing back Estelle Morris who quit as education secretary last October saying she was not up to the job.

Morris, whose return to government was unexpected, becomes minister for the arts, a portfolio under Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell, a Downing Street spokesman said.

"I'm obviously pleased... I know I don't have a hugely strong background in this, so it will be a huge challenge," said Morris, who had quit as education secretary amid a furore over high school leaving exams.
