Kampala International University students yesterday staged a sit down strike over fees.

The students sat peacefully at the university's Kansanga campus with their colleagues occasionally addressing them using loud speakers.

The KIU fees structure has been reviewed with increments for most of the courses starting 2003/2004.

The KIU publicist, Ms Grace Rwomushana, however, clarified that the new fees structure would not affect continuing students but only those who join the university in October.
