Speaking at a gathering of university students at the University Mosque after the evening prayers, Guards commander, Tala'i, said that we were approaching 18 Tir [9 July, anniversary of student demonstrations on 9 July 1999]. Commenting on the reason for the presence of Law-Enforcement Force personnel at the university dormitory, he said: Acting under the pretext of commemorating the anniversary of what happened on that day, foreign agents are trying to cause agitation and start a popular movement.
