A Saudi oil sector source has confirmed that Riyadh will scrap an agreement that was due to be signed with an international consortium of oil companies, led by US Exxon Mobil. The deal was expected to involve the development of a series of projects in the gas fields of southern Al-Ghawar, located in the east of Saudi Arabia. The investments in these projects are worth 15bn dollars.
