Doug Risebrough and Jacques Lemaire were the team behind the team that surprised the league in the regular season and wowed everyone in the playoffs, in only its third season.

But before the Wild made its unlikely run to the Western Conference finals, Risebrough and Lemaire already had won over their peers. Risebrough, the Wild's general manger, was voted the SPORTING NEWS' Executive of the Year and Lemaire TSN's Coach of the Year.
