Romania: Government adopts private health insurance law.

Bucharest, 6 June: People will be able to get health insurance in Romania with private companies too, but state health insurance is compulsory in keeping with the draft law on private health insurance, adopted by the government on Thursday [5 June].

Private health insurance for the payment of medical services is an optional system, meant to supplement the compulsory one, which offers medical services according to the law on the organization and functioning of the system of health insurance, said Secretary of State with the Ministry of Health Sorin Simion.
