Wellington district road policing manager Inspector Allan Boreham has wildly underestimated the public he is charged with protecting if he thinks we are buying his latest claim that relocating fixed speed cameras on Calabar Rd, Miramar, and the city side of Mount Victoria tunnel is about road safety and not revenue (May 26).

His claim that traffic lights at the Basin Reserve have reduced speed is absurd. Traffic exiting Mt Victoria Tunnel on the city side has always had to contend with a row of stationary cars. A red traffic light doesn't change this.
