HARK! Was that cacophony that awoke you this morning the sound of native birds, perhaps? All round Wellington, people are reporting the reappearance of native birds in their gardens, particularly tui and kereru, seemingly a happy community spin-off from the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary.

More birds are not the only beneficial byproduct for Wellingtonians from the sanctuary on their doorstep. Anyone who has hosted out-of-town or overseas visitors will have asked themselves the question, "Where shall I take them?".
