WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Indigo Software, the leading provider of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)-based communication solutions for IP networks, and Ridgeway Systems & Software, market leader in firewall and NAT traversal software for secure IP voice and video communications, today announced that they have entered into a strategic marketing and sales agreement to deliver a new class of end-to-end IP communication solutions to the service provider market, combining Indigo Software's SIP routing and service infrastructure and Ridgeway's firewall/NAT traversal solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will engage in joint sales, marketing and engineering activities.
SIP has rapidly become the de facto standard for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and other communications over the Internet. Due to the way the Internet is structured today, however, SIP-based communication may have difficulty to traverse current firewall and Network Address Translations (NATs), stalling direct connectivity from home and enterprise networks to the infrastructure of service providers. By bundling Indigo Software's Communication Server & SDK(TM) (comprising Proxy, Registar, Redirect and Location servers, and augmented by the Indigo Presence server) and Ridgeway's IPFreedom(TM) solution, service providers can offer MoIP (Multimedia over IP) services that securely traverse any type of firewall/NAT.
"There's a distinct match between Indigo Software and Ridgeway product offerings," said Marijke Van Remortel, Sales Director at Indigo Software. "In today's economy, service providers and their customers need the capabilities of advanced communications services more than ever. Our infrastructure, combined with Ridgeway's IPFreedom(TM), allows us to provide an end-to-end solution that combines voice, video and data over an IP network regardless of the number and type of firewalls and NAT devices that are in between the service provider infrastructure and the end-terminal."
"We're excited about working with Indigo," said Tim Rubert, Vice President, Business Development for Ridgeway. "We believe that the Service Provider market in the EMEA region will benefit greatly from this combined solution as they can extend their current service offerings, generate new revenue streams, and attract a new segment of customers. Service Providers can finally ...
