CHAMPION, Pa. -- CHAMPION, Pa., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The 6th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing, sponsored by the Southwest Branch of the Pennsylvania Tavern Association, was held on June 2. "The golf outing is an event the association holds each year. It's really an opportunity for bar and restaurant owners and managers to network. "These awards have been developed to promote advanced education for people in our industry," added Aldom.
The association gives seven scholarships totaling $10,000 to any owner, manager, employee or child thereof for current SWPTA members every year. Other prerequisites for the grants include a minimum GPA of 2.5, and current enrollment or acceptance for enrollment into any college, university, or trade school for the upcoming fall semester.
