Statesman News Service KENDRAPARA, June 2. - A joint team of forest and police personnel have arrested two more persons in connection with the much-publicised deer meat incident in Bhadrak district's Bidyutprava hamlet on 25 April.
With today's arrest, the number of persons apprehended in connection with the incident has gone up to five. Earlier, three persons, including a boatman were taken into custody for killing a couple of deer from Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuary. The alleged serving of venision in a VIP wedding in the remote coastal hamlet Bidyutprava on 25 April had triggered a state-wide criticism among conservationists. Later, an inquiry by forest department did not find veracity in the allegations that deer meat was served in themarriage feast hosted by a ruling BJD sarpanch. However, it ...
