OLYMPUS, KODAK TEAMING UP TO SELL CHEAPER SLR DIGITAL CAMERA.
TOKYO, June 2 Asia Pulse - Olympus Optical Co. (TSE:7733) and Eastman Kodak Co. of the U.S. will forge an alliance in the SLR (single-lens reflex) digital camera business in a bid to tap global demand for high-end digital cameras by leveraging their technologies and sales networks.
Olympus will develop an end product incorporating Kodak's latest image sensor and put it on the market as early as October. Kodak will obtain technological expertise from the Japanese firm and sell the camera under its own brand next year.
