SEOUL, June 2 Asia Pulse - U.S. Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans said a final decision on the issue of levying countervailing duties on semiconductors produced by Hynix will be made in a transparent manner and will be based on a review of the positions of all concerned.
Speaking at a press conference at the Hyatt Hotel in Seoul, Evans said the entire administrative process concerning Hynix (KSE:00660) has been in the works for six months and that the expected ruling by the commerce department on June 16 will be based on all due considerations. He added that if the need arises another ruling will be made by the ITC on July 31 that could determine whether Hynix's chips harmed U.S companies. A final verdict will be made in mid-August, he said.
