MELBOURNE, June 2 Asia Pulse - Workers at a Melbourne automotive electronics factory went on a 24-hour strike today after they were refused a six per cent pay rise, the manufacturing union said.
About 2,000 workers at Robert Bosch in suburban Clayton started industrial action at 5am (AEST) today, the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) said.
AMWU Victorian secretary Dave Oliver said the company's management ended three months of discussions last week.
"The company has basically refused to negotiate on the key issues, such as hours of work and protection of entitlements," he told AAP.
