GREENSBORO, N.C., May 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall-AsiaNet/ -- TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TMAS) announced that the Company's subsidiary, Brice Manufacturing (BRICE) has new program awards with an aggregate expected value of over $10 million.
In one of the largest orders, Lufthansa German Airlines selected BRICE's economy passenger seats to retrofit their Boeing 737s. This follows the A320 program award by Air New Zealand, another Star Alliance member.
Luxair of Luxembourg and AirAsia of Malaysia have also signed contracts with Brice for B737 seating since reviewing the products during the Aircraft Interiors Exhibition in February.
BRICE's B1000 economy seat was launched in 1998 and has established an outstanding track record over the 5 years it has been in service. BRICE seating is certified for use in all major commercial and military transport aircraft.
Bruce Brayshaw, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for BRICE stated, "BRICE seating products offer our customers significant advantages, including distinctive styling, high comfort, low cost of ownership, and our well known product support."
Gil West, President and Chief Operating Officer of TIMCO, stated, "TIMCO continues to be pleased with the market acceptance being demonstrated for BRICE seating products through these new programs. In particular, the selection by major international air carriers represents an important milestone for BRICE market penetration. TIMCO feels that the new seats coupled with seat refurbishments and PMA replacement parts have created great synergy with TIMCO's product offering for Chapter 25 (interior & cabin furnishings) items."
