"Is he for real?"
That's a question we Fantasy Source-ers see often in our e-mails. An owner has made a great draft pick or free-agent pickup and is wondering about his hot but unproven player.
As I said last week, young and/or unproven players are the toughest to assess. Sometimes, however, you just know when a guy is overachieving. Maybe it's a lack of minor league success or a lukewarm scouting report. Maybe it's just a hunch. Whatever the reason, there was plenty of competition for this year's All-Mirage team.
C Chad Moeller, Diamondbacks. He's hitting 91 points above his .242 career average entering the season.
1B Todd Sears, Twins. He had 11 RBIs in his first 43 at-bats; he won't keep up that pace.
2B Alex Cora, Dodgers. I can see it now: Cora's .288 batting average falls closer to his career .237 mark and Joe Thurston takes over at second base.
