DALLAS -- DALLAS, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- At InfoComm International this year, the Texas Instruments (TI) booth (Booth 1720) will once again feature a representative sample of the growing number of market-leading projectors to feature Digital Light Processing(TM) technology. More detailed demonstrations of those products and many more can be seen at booths throughout the show. Among the companies who will be showing products based on DLP(TM) technology are the following.
BARCO (Booth 2614) will demonstrate the two most recent additions to the company's range of high brightness projectors based on 3-chip DLP(TM) technology. Announced at NAB this year was the SLM G10 Executive, featuring XGA resolution, and 10,000 lumens of brightness. Also announced at NAB, and also on show at InfoComm, is the SLM R10 Executive. Like the SLM G10 Executive, it delivers 10,000 lumens -- but at SXGA resolution. The company says that the SLM Executive Series is ideal for fixed installations in high- profile venues such as customer centers, conference halls and auditoriums. BARCO claims that its pixel map processing enables the SLM Executive Series to deliver sharp, vibrant video images, with remarkable color depth and uniformity. The two projectors also offer picture-in-picture and 'seamless' source switching capabilities.
Also on show will be the SLM G10 Performer and SLM R10 Performer, delivering 10,000 lumens and featuring XGA and SXGA resolution respectively.
In booth 2948, BenQ America Corp. will debut three new projectors at InfoComm. The BenQ PB7220 delivers 2,500 lumens of brightness at XGA resolution with a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and weighs 5.1lbs. With a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and light output of 1,500 lumens at 85% uniformity, the BenQ PB2220 Digital Projector has a native XGA resolution but can support both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. It can deliver a 60" image from a distance of 6.6 feet. The BenQ PB2120 Digital Projector, like the PB2220, has a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 but delivers 1,200 lumens at SVGA resolution. The PB2220 and PB2120 are HDTV-compatible with direct YPbPr/component, S-Video and composite video inputs, and weigh 3.8lbs. All three projectors integrate BenQ's proprietary Dynamic Color Management System (DCMS) technology and feature six-segment color wheels, PIP/POP functions and a Digital Keystone correction system.
At InfoComm 2003, Christie (Booth 1020) will be showcasing both new additions to and existing members of their product line. Making their debut at the show are the GraphXMASTER CS70-D100U (projection display cube) and the GraphXMASTER RPMS-D100U (rear projection module), both of which feature UHP lamp technology -- an innovation, according to the company. Both are based on Christie's single-chip DLP(TM) SXGA resolution platform designed, says the company, for 24/7 operations in multimedia wall displays requiring high performance and high reliability with up to 20,000 lamp hours. The UHP-based projection systems feature both single lamp and dual lamp versions and offer up to 1,100 ANSI lumens with either 100W or 120W lamp operation.
As well as these new products, Christie will demonstrate other projectors that the company has announced in recent months. These include the Christie DS30 which is the company's most lightweight projector at 6.6lbs and featuring 3,000 ANSI lumens from an SXGA-resolution, single-chip DLP(TM) design and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1. The combination of its low noise level of 28dB and sealed optical engine makes it, according to Christie, a perfect choice for conference and presentation rooms as well as for dusty or smoky environments such as bars and clubs. New for InfoComm, is the DS30W model featuring the same attributes as the DS30, but with a pre-configured short throw lens offering a 1:1 throw ratio for applications in limited or confined spaces and short throw distances.
Also on show on the Christie booth will be the Roadster S9 projector which delivers 8,500 lumens at SXGA resolution by way of a 1,500W Xenon CERMAX(R) illumination system. Designed for rental staging and large venue events such as Nickelodeon's Upfront programming event, the Roadster S9 takes advantage of the new generation DLP(TM) technology to enable it to deliver enhanced black levels and high contrast ratio. Christie's patented LiteLOC(TM) and Intelligent Lens System (ILS(TM)) provide, says the company, constant brightness over the life of the lamp and greater range of control in projector positioning.
