Police arrested five US Marines in separate incidents related to public intoxication, Japan's Kyodo news service reported.
The marines, aged 18 to 22, are among the 20,000 troops stationed around the southern Japanese prefecture. A total 47,000 US troops are stationed in Japan.
Lance Corporal Aaron Itsell was alleged to have caused damage while riding a minibike, while marines absconded from a taxi without paying the fare of some 4,800 yen (40 US dollars). Police arrested Private Andhla Genama, 20, and an 18-year-old marine, whose name was withheld because he is considered a minor in Japan, on charges of fraud, Kyodo reported. All three marines are stationed at Camp Kinser in Urasoe, Okinawa.
