After a catastrophic first day on the River Ebro, where the four sections of 20 anglers were divided between Ribo roja and Flix, Findlay and Perkins were left floundering down the 80-strong field in joint-23rd place.
Despite Findlay, a 35-year-old bricklayer from Barsby, putting an impressive 18.06kg on the scales to finish fourth in his difficult section at Riba roja, temperatures soaring to an incredible 111F (44C) took their toll on Perkins.
Even though he weighed 22.42kg on the prolific ferry section at Flix, it was only good enough for three points, giving the pairing a total of just 20 points.
