Sydney, May 31 - New Zealand Warriors coach Daniel Anderson reacted cautiously when asked if a try ruled out by video referee Phil Cooley was decisive in the Penrith Panthers 34-12 victory at Penrith Stadium here tonight.
Trailing 6-12, Warrior replacement Sione Faumuina stepped centre Luke Lewis and strode over after grabbing a Stacey Jones cut-out pass for what the Warriors believed was a legitimate try in the 36th minute.
However, referee Paul Simpkins referred the decision to Cooley who ruled fullback Brent Webb had obstructed Penrith captain Craig Gower.
It appeared Webb was holding his ground and Gower ran into him.
Cooley had earlier denied wing Francis Meli in the 31st minute although it appeared the wing knocked a Jones bomb forward as he leapt with opposite Brett Howland.
