THE fate of proposed legislation to amend sections of the Namibian Constitution may be determined in the next two weeks when a National Council Standing Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs presents its report.

The NC will re-convene for a week-long session on Monday after adjourning on May 15.

The Committee used the break to conduct countrywide public hearings on the Namibian Constitution Amendment Bill, which was referred to it by NC lawmakers two weeks ago.

The amendment bill sailed through the National Assembly but encountered stiff resistance in the second chamber …
