New EarthLink Offering, Extended DSL, Overcomes DSL Distance
Limitations with the Netopia R5300 Router
Netopia, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTPA), a market leader in broadband equipment, software and services, today announced that EarthLink, Inc. has selected the Netopia R5300 router for use with EarthLink's new Extended DSL product. By packaging Netopia's R5300 router with Extended DSL, EarthLink overcomes DSL distance limitations in 91 cities with all the performance, security and routing capabilities required by demanding business customers.
"Our challenge was to deliver broadband service to previously unavailable customers," said Jason Wernick, director of business services at EarthLink, Inc. "By selecting Netopia, EarthLink's new Extended DSL not only overcomes the distance limitations of standard DSL lines but does so with the proven performance and business-class functionality of the Netopia R5300 router."
"EarthLink's Extended DSL service will enlarge the EarthLink footprint of available customers," said Jeff Porter, vice president of marketing at Netopia, Inc. "We are pleased to be working with EarthLink to extend broadband services to those customers that, until now, have been unable to subscribe to DSL service because of their location."
