SEOUL, May 26 Asia Pulse - The Korean government designated eight new cities and wards as real estate "speculation areas" Monday in an effort to clamp down on rising property prices.

The designation was decided at the fifth meeting of the Real Estate Price Stabilization Review Committee, chaired by Vice Minister of Finance and Economy Kim Gwang-lim.
